Clinical Anesthesia care
Whether your beloved pet has a high anesthesia risk due to illness or injury, or you simply want the specialized care of a Board Certified Veterinary Anesthesiologist, I can help you. I partner with your primary care or Specialist veterinarian to provide an entire peri-anesthetic care plan for your pet. We work together so the anesthesia care I provide best suits both your pet’s needs and what your veterinarian needs to accomplish. I focus on your pet’s anesthesia care so your veterinarian can focus on providing the best of their skills to help your pet. From our pre-procedure chat to full and stable post-anesthesia recovery, I am with your pet providing the highest level of specialty care possible.
Pain management
Our pets feel pain just as we do. They communicate this in subtle ways. I consult in-clinic with veterinarians to provide the best acute care analgesics for your pet’s immediate pain. I also work with you and your veterinarian to identify the type and location of more long-term pain your pet may experience. As a team, we then make a plan for how to treat and manage this pain so your pet can enjoy his or her best life with you. We rely both on traditional medication and therapies as well as alternative pain management therapy such as acupuncture. We also help you help your pet at home with ways to monitor progress and response to therapy.
Anesthesia supervision and training
When a veterinarian or practice would like my help with several patients requiring anesthesia in a day, I provide personalized supervision for all pets. I am patient-side working with the nurse anesthetist to provide complete anesthesia care for your pet. Should a concern arise, I am there to help correct the problem. In addition, I provide on-site training in clinical anesthesia and pain management to veterinary clinicians and staff. This training can be lectures on timely topics in anesthesia and pain management or one-on-one training to maximize the services the practice can offer. I am able to provide RACE-approved training for certified CE.
